Erynn Doherty is a secondary art, photography and English teacher from St. Andrews West, Ontario who studied art and English at Bishop’s University and completed her BEd at Queen’s. She has travelled, lived and taught in areas across Canada and is proud to have settled to live, raise her family and teach back in SD&G.
Through her love of creativity, she focuses on learning and creating herself in order to grow as a teacher and as an artist. Her paintings, sketches and wood burnings are showcased as Whispering Woods Artistry, named after the magical land of bedtime stories shared with her 4 growing children, inspired by her own back yard. And her shared interest in using natural light to capture special moments led her to join Beyond Clarity Photography, a natural light photography business with her talented friend, Rachel Wolff.
Her obsession with creative exploration, teaching and learning has allowed her to showcase her work in many local artistic groups and ventures such as TAG, the Cornwall Gymnastics Club and at the Martintown Mill and in local events such as the Trunk Show, Cornwall’s Art Battle, the Cornwall and Area Pop Event, Artfest and of course Apples and Art.
Her love of nature, vibrant colour and movement is evident in her paintings and her photography work. She looks forward to sharing her work with visitors at the Rurban Brewing where she plans to do live art and display examples of her work that will be available for purchase.
